After reading a document, Scontrik sorts the details into two groups. Verified means the value is written on the document and the app found it. To check means the app isn’t sure: it would rather ask you than make it up. Your answer always wins: a later reading never overwrites it.
The app looks for five details: Document type, Merchant, Purchase date, Total and Currency.
Before you start
You need at least one saved proof (Add a receipt or invoice) and the reading must be finished. On the home screen, every purchase card has a label:
- Reading…: the app is still reading, wait a few seconds;
- 2 to check (or another number): there are details to confirm;
- Verified: all good;
- Not read yet: reading didn’t start or didn’t finish.
Confirm the doubtful details
On the home screen, tap the purchase labelled to check. You can also tap the To check filter at the top to see only these.
What you’ll see: the purchase opens.
Scroll down to What we found and tap the Check 2 details box (the number varies). Below it, it says «Only what couldn’t be verified on the receipt.»
What you’ll see: the guided review opens, one detail at a time. At the top you can see how far along you are.
Read the question, for example Who did you buy from?. Below, the On the receipt section shows the lines read from the document, so you can check without opening it.
Enter the right value in one of these ways:
- tap one of the suggestions taken from the document (for example the store name or an amount);
- if the Suggested by on-device AI box appears, tap Use to accept the suggestion;
- or type the value in the field yourself.
Tap Save. If you don’t know the answer, tap Skip: the detail stays to check.
What you’ll see: you move on to the next detail. On the last one the button becomes Save and finish.
Tap Save and finish.
What you’ll see: All set appears with «Your answers are saved on this device.» On the purchase, the details you answered show Confirmed by you or Edited by you.
How to answer each question
What kind of document is this? (Document type). Choose Purchase receipt if it’s a receipt, an invoice or a slip for something you bought. Choose Not a purchase if it’s another kind of document (a quote or a letter, for example).
Who did you buy from? (Merchant). Type the store’s name the way you recognise it, or tap one of the suggested lines.
When did you buy it? (Purchase date). Tap the day on the calendar or one of the dates found on the document. You can’t pick a future date. If the document has an ambiguous date such as 03/04, the app offers both readings: choose the right one.
What was the final amount you paid? (Total). Type the total you paid, with decimals, or tap one of the amounts found. Make sure you don’t pick the net amount or the VAT instead of the total.
Which currency was it paid in? (Currency). Tap EUR, USD, GBP or CHF, or type the three-letter code of another currency.
Correct a detail that is already verified
A Verified detail can be corrected too.
Open the purchase and scroll down to What we found.
Tap the detail you want to change, for example Total.
What you’ll see: the review opens for that detail only.
Enter the right value and tap Save and finish.
What you’ll see: the detail now shows Edited by you.
What each label means
- Found on the receipt: the app found the value written on the document.
- Confirmed by you: you accepted the suggested value.
- Edited by you: you typed or chose a different value.
- Not found on the receipt: the value isn’t there or can’t be read. If there is a Suggested:, it’s only a proposal for you to confirm.
Document checks
For invoices, the Document checks box may appear on the purchase. It tells you, for example, whether net amount plus tax add up to the total, or whether the total doesn’t match: in that case compare it with the original. It also shows whether a VAT number, a tax code or an IBAN has a valid format.
Note: «valid format» only means the check digit is correct. It doesn’t confirm who the seller is.
If something goes wrong
The purchase says «This proof hasn’t been read yet» or «Reading didn’t finish.» Tap Read now. The original is already safe: reading happens on the phone and you can run it again.
The app suggests lines that have nothing to do with it. Ignore the suggestions and type the value in the field yourself.
I confirmed a wrong value. Open the detail again from What we found and correct it: the last answer you give is the one that counts.
Many details stay to check. This happens with faded receipts, blurry photos or unusual documents. Try scanning again with the Document look and good light. In any case, once confirmed, your answers stay.
