What you need

  • An iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Scontrik is an iPhone app. To check your version, open the iPhone Settings app › General › About › iOS Version.
  • An Apple ID to download the app from the App Store. You also need it to subscribe to Pro, if you ever want to.
  • Free space on the phone. Every receipt is saved as a file on your iPhone: the more documents you keep, the more space they use.
  • The receipts you want to keep: on paper (you photograph them with the app), as photos in your library, as PDFs in the Files app, or as attachments in another app (Mail, WhatsApp, Safari…).

You don’t need an account, a sign-up email or a password: Scontrik doesn’t ask for them.

Smart reading

Scontrik always reads the text of the document directly on the phone. On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, with iOS 27 and Apple Intelligence turned on, it also uses Apple’s on-device model to understand the document better. Either way, nothing leaves your iPhone.

You can see which mode your phone uses in Settings › Smart reading: it says On or Basic, with a sentence explaining why. Details are in All settings.

Note: even with smart reading on, some details stay To check. That’s on purpose: the app only fills in a value when it finds it written on the document.

The app’s languages

Scontrik is available in English, Italian, French, Spanish and German. It uses the language set on your iPhone. In this guide, button names are the ones you see in the app in English.

What Scontrik doesn’t do

It helps to know this up front, so you don’t look for features that aren’t there.

  • It doesn’t sync your data between devices. Purchases stay on the iPhone where you saved them. To keep a copy somewhere else, use export or folder backup (Export, back up and restore).
  • It has no account and doesn’t upload your receipts to the internet.
  • It doesn’t read your email or your photos by itself. You add every document yourself.
  • It doesn’t tell you what your rights are. It counts the warranty length and the return days you enter, but it doesn’t say what the law entitles you to. For that, what the store, the manufacturer or an adviser says is what counts.
  • It doesn’t calculate tax. The sheet for the accountant lists your purchases, but it does no tax calculations.
  • It doesn’t guess. If a value can’t be read clearly, it stays To check instead of being made up.
