Before you start

The form must already be in your theme: see Publish the form on your store.

Customization lives in two places:

Choose the form language

  1. Go to Apps › IFG Returns › Form editor.
  2. In Primary language of the return forms, choose the language, for example “EN - English”.
  3. Click Save language settings at the top.

What you’ll see: the message “Settings saved successfully.” The three blocks on your store show texts, labels and errors in the new language.

30 languages are available. Until you choose a language here, the form uses the one from the app’s Settings.

Create custom return reasons

The standard reasons are “Item was defective”, “Changed my mind” and “Incorrect size”, plus “Other”, which is always available. You can replace them with your own, on every plan.

  1. In Form editor, go to Custom return reasons.
  2. Type one reason per row, for example “Wrong color”.
  3. To add a row click + Add reason. To remove one, click the bin icon next to it.
  4. Click Save language settings.

What you’ll see: in step 2 of the form the customer sees your reasons, with “Other” last.

Custom reasons are in the form’s primary language.

Show the form in several languages (Unlimited plan)

With the multilingual extension, each customer sees the form in the language they are browsing your store in.

  1. In Form editor, section Advanced Multilingual Extension, turn on Enable advanced multilingual extension.
  2. In Additional enabled languages, tick the languages you need, for example French and German.

What you’ll see: for each ticked language a box “Customize texts — French” (or the chosen language) appears, with the texts already filled in.

  3. To change a text, open the language box. The fields are grouped into “Step 1 — Customer data”, “Step 2 — Items and reason” and “Step 3 — Review”. Edit the ones you need.
  4. In Global fallback language, choose the language to show to customers browsing in an unsupported language.
  5. Click Save language settings.

On the Free and Grow plans the section is visible but locked, with the Unlimited → pill that leads to the Plans page.

Change colors, layout and fields in the theme editor

  1. In Form editor, click Open Theme Editor → (or go to Online Store › Themes › Customize).
  2. Open the page with the block and click the Module or Pop-up block, or open Floating under “App embeds”.
  3. Change the settings you need (the list is below).
  4. Click Save.

Warning: when you save the published theme, changes are visible to customers immediately.

The block settings are grouped:

A text field left empty uses the standard text in the form language. The form language isn’t chosen here: it follows the primary language in Form editor.

Troubleshooting

I saved but the form is still in the old language. Reload the store page. If you typed texts in the theme editor, they stay as you wrote them: empty the field to go back to the automatic text in the new language.

I don’t see my reasons in the form. Check that you clicked Save language settings and that the rows are not empty.
