Uninstall the app

Before you start

If you only want to remove the button from your store for a while, you don’t need to uninstall: turn off the toggle in your theme (Turn on the widget in your theme). If you only want to stop paying, you can go back to the Free plan and keep the free widget.

If you’re on Unlimited and want to keep a copy of conversations and leads, export them to CSV first: see Conversations and leads.

Step by step

1. In Shopify Admin open Settings (bottom left) › Apps (in some stores it’s called “Apps and sales channels”).
2. Next to IFG AI Chat open the three-dot menu and choose Uninstall.

3. Confirm in Shopify’s window.

   What you’ll see: the app disappears from your list of apps and the button disappears from your store.

Warning: the widget and the chatbot stop working on your live store immediately.

What happens next

• Subscription: Shopify ends the app subscription when you uninstall.
• Access to your store: the app loses access to your store immediately.
• Your data: configuration, conversations, leads and knowledge base stay for about 48 hours. If you reinstall the app within that time, you’ll find your configuration again. After 48 hours Shopify asks the app to delete the store’s data, and the app deletes it permanently.
• Conversations and leads never last more than 30 days from when they were created anyway.

Troubleshooting

The button is still visible on the store after uninstalling. Your browser may be showing an old copy of the page. Reload it or open it in a private window. If the button stays, contact support.

I uninstalled by mistake. Reinstall the app from the Shopify App Store within 48 hours: your configuration will be there. A free trial you’ve already used doesn’t start again.
