Link your products together better
At a glance
- What you get
- No isolated products: every product connected to similar ones through collections, vendor or tags.
- Time
- 10 minutes
- Plan
- All plans (one-click collections from Grow)
Before you start
- Complete the first setup.
- An AI engine also understands your catalog from how products are grouped: shared collections, same vendor, same tags. Link Coach measures exactly this. It doesn’t change your products’ GEO Score: it has its own item in the Overview.
- On the Free plan the analysis covers at most 20 products and keeps only the latest one. The Resolve button that creates collections is available from Grow.
Analyse the links
- Go to Shopify Admin › Apps › IFG GEO Optimizer › Link Coach.
-
Press Analyze links.
What you’ll see: the table with the columns Product, Status, Collections, Suggestions and Live check. Each product has a status: Connected, Weak or Isolated.
- Use the All, Connected, Weak and Isolated filters to see one group at a time. Next to each filter there’s the number of products.
Read the suggestions
In the Suggestions column you find sentences like:
- “Shares the vendor “Acme” with 4 other product(s), but isn’t in any collection yet — consider adding it to one.”
- “This product is in only 1 collection — being in 2 or more generally strengthens how a generative engine places it in your catalog’s context.”
- “No structural relationship found with any other product — consider adding it to a collection or aligning tags/vendor with similar products.”
When a suggestion names a vendor or a tag, the View similar products button opens the list of similar products; with Open you open a product in the Admin. If a suggestion has no automatic fix, you see the note “No automatic fix available — review this product manually.”.
Create a collection in one click
-
On the product’s row, press Resolve next to the suggestion.
What you’ll see: the “Create smart collection” window with the proposed collection name and how many other products it will group.
-
Press Create collection.
What you’ll see: “The collection “collection name” has been created. It’s not published yet — open it in your admin to review and publish it to your sales channels.” and the Open in admin button. On the row, the button becomes View collection.
-
Press Open in admin, check the collection in the Shopify Admin and publish it on the sales channels you want.
Warning: the collection is really created in your store, but unpublished. Customers only see it once you publish it. If you don’t need it, delete it from the Shopify Admin.
Check pages live
-
Press Live-check top suggestions above the table.
What you’ll see: in the Live check column, for the main products, a result such as “2/3 sibling links found on the page”. Products not checked yet show “Not checked”.
-
To check a single product, press Verify now on its row.
If something goes wrong
I don’t see the Resolve button, but a pill with a padlock. You’re on the Free plan: creating collections is available from Grow.
I see “This data is stale and the product is no longer in the latest analysis — run a new scan before verifying again.” The product isn’t in the latest analysis. Press Analyze links again.
I see “The analysis didn’t complete — try again shortly. On a large catalog, Shopify may have temporarily throttled the requests.” On a large catalog Shopify may slow down requests. Wait a minute and try again.
