Before you start
You need to have completed the first setup. The Overview fills up after the first catalog audit: if you haven’t run it yet, the page takes you to Catalog audit.
Open the Overview
-
Go to Shopify Admin › Apps › IFG GEO Optimizer. In the app’s menu the first item is Overview.
What you’ll see: the “Overview” page. At the top there’s the coloured pill of your plan, a sentence summing up what the app does, and the status of your store: “All clear” if there’s nothing urgent, “To complete” if something needs fixing.
-
To refresh the numbers after editing products, press Rescan catalog. If you have never audited your catalog, you find Catalog audit in its place.
Tip: the Manage plan button takes you to the Plans page.
The parts of the page
GEO Score of your store
The number from 0 to 100 says how readable your catalog is for ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. The colour follows this scale: Critical (0-24), Needs work (25-49), Fair (50-79), Good (80-100). On the Free plan you only see today’s value; history and the weekly trend come with Grow.
Below it, “What this score is made of” shows the five items that make up the score: Structured data, Content extractability, AI crawler check, Organization schema and AI files published. Each item has a View button that opens the page where you improve it. An item you haven’t measured yet shows “Not analyzed yet” and doesn’t count towards the average until you measure it.
The key numbers
- Products analyzed: how many products were checked in the last audit. On the Free plan, 20 at most.
- Critical issues: products with serious problems. The Review in Catalog Audit button opens the list already filtered.
- FAQs published: FAQs approved and visible in your store.
- FAQ generations: how many FAQ generations you’ve used this month. On the Free plan you see “Not included in Free”.
Fix these first
The list of the most useful things to do, most important first. Each row has a label, Critical or To improve, and a button that takes you where you fix it. Rows you may see:
- “GEO Schema block not active”: the theme block isn’t active, so the data doesn’t reach your pages. Fix it as explained in Connect your theme and publish the AI files.
- “N products missing structured Product data”: products missing basic data. See Audit and fix your catalog.
- “N descriptions with low factual density”: descriptions with few concrete facts. See Rewrite descriptions.
- “llms.txt preview not generated yet”: optional, not urgent.
If there’s nothing to do you see “No priority issues detected right now.”.
AI mentions detected per week
On Grow and Unlimited, the chart shows week by week how many times AI assistants mentioned your store when answering the questions you track in AI Visibility. Until you add questions you see “No visibility checks yet — add a tracked prompt to start.”. On the Free plan, instead of the chart there’s the “Track your AI visibility over time” box with the Upgrade to Grow button.
Engines and integrations
The last block, “AI Shopping Readiness Matrix”, sums up what AI engines can read from your store: llms.txt, agents.md, AI crawler check, MCP readiness and AI referral traffic, meaning visits that arrived after an AI assistant’s answer. Each row says “Generated”, “Not generated yet”, “Never checked” or the date of the last check, and has a View button.
If something goes wrong
The page says “No products in the catalog”. There are no active products. Add or activate at least one product in Shopify and press Rescan catalog again.
I see “Shopify has temporarily throttled requests for this store — your catalog is likely very large. Try again in a minute.” Your catalog is large and Shopify slowed down requests. Wait a minute and try again.
The score doesn’t change after a fix. The numbers update with a new audit. Press Rescan catalog.
