Before you start
You need to have completed the first run: Installation and first run. The register only shows days since you installed the app.
On every plan you can open any single day or any whole month, even one already closed. Range views (last 7 days, whole year, From/To) require the Grow plan.
Opening the register for a day
-
In the app menu, choose Register & Revenue.
What you’ll see: the title “Register & Revenue”, the sentence “Here’s the total of non-invoiced sales for the chosen day, broken down by VAT rate.” and a blue notice about what the register covers.
- In the Period section, press Day. It’s already selected when you open the page.
- In the Day field, pick the date from the calendar.
-
Press View.
What you’ll see: the Sales register section appears, with one row per rate or category and the columns Rate / category, Taxable amount and Tax.
Opening the register for a whole month
- In the Period section, press Month.
- In the Month menu, choose the month. The whole month is shown, from the first to the last day.
-
Press View.
What you’ll see: the line “Selected range:” with the month and the number of days, the Sales register table with the Period total row, and below it the Breakdown by day table.
-
In the Breakdown by day table, tap a day to open it.
What you’ll see: the day’s rows by rate appear below it. The columns are Day, Taxable amount, Tax and Net Shopify revenue; on Free the Net Shopify revenue column isn’t there, because it belongs to the reconciliation (Grow). Days are shown 7 at a time: use Next › and ‹ Previous to scroll.
Opening a range (Grow plan)
- In the Period section, press Custom.
- In the Range menu, choose one of three options:
- From / To (choose dates): fill in From and To;
- Last 7 days: in the Up to field pick the last day; the app shows the 7 days ending on that date;
- Whole year: type the year in the Year field.
- Press View.
Note: on the Free plan the Custom button has a lock and the View button is grey, with Grow → next to it.
Reading the register rows
Each row is a rate or a category. Row names are always in Italian, as in the documents for your accountant:
| Row | What it contains |
|---|---|
| 22%, 10%, 5%, 4% | Sales in Italy at that VAT rate. |
| OSS — (country) (rate) | Sales to consumers in other EU countries with that country’s VAT, for example “OSS — DE 19%”. |
| Non imponibile — esportazioni extra-UE (art. 8) | Sales shipped outside the European Union (non-taxable exports). |
| Esenti (art. 10) | VAT-exempt sales. |
| Da classificare — verifica manuale | Amounts without a recognised rate (to classify). Check them with your accountant before closing the period. |
Above the table, next to Taxable amount and Tax, an info icon explains both words.
The notices at the top
- Red banner “N orders with zero VAT to check”: an order to Italy or another EU country with no VAT. It almost always means the rate for that country is missing in Shopify. The amount is still in the register, as “to classify”.
- Yellow banner “N warnings to review”: orders the app couldn’t confidently assign to a rate. Check them on the order in Shopify and with your accountant.
How the app picks an order’s day
- An order enters the register once it is paid in Shopify, on the day of payment.
- If the order was shipped before it was fully paid, the part still unpaid goes on the shipping day.
- If payments fall on different days, the order is split across those days.
- A refund is recorded on the day it happens, as a reversal. The day of the sale doesn’t change.
- A closed day is never changed. If Shopify reports an operation when its day is already closed, the app records it on the current day and flags it among the orders to check, with the real day. What “closed” means is explained in the Glossary.
If something goes wrong
I see “No takings for the selected day”. Maybe there were no sales that day, or they were all invoiced and therefore excluded. If the day is before installation, it isn’t in the register.
An order I can see in Shopify is missing. Only paid orders are recorded. Check the payment status in Shopify. If the order had a VAT number or tax code, it was excluded as invoiced: you’ll see it in the “excluded because invoiced” count on the Overview.
I see “Monthly order limit reached”. The month has more orders than your plan lets you view. No order is lost: to view it, upgrade from Plans.
