Before you start
You need to be able to log in to the Shopify admin as the owner or as a staff member allowed to install apps. Have your company name, VAT number and address ready if you want to enter them now. If in doubt, read Before you start.
Installing the app
- Open the Shopify App Store and search for IFG Registro dei Corrispettivi.
-
On the app’s page, press Install.
What you’ll see: Shopify shows the permissions the app asks for. The app only asks to read orders.
-
Check the permissions and confirm the installation with the button at the bottom of Shopify’s page.
What you’ll see: the app opens inside the Shopify admin. At the top there is a bar with four steps: Welcome, Terms, Details, Plan.
You only go through the first run once. Until you finish it, it starts again from step 1 every time you open the app.
Step 1 of 4 — Welcome
- In the Select language menu, choose the app’s language. There are three options:
- Automatic (Shopify account language): the app uses your Shopify account’s language; if that is neither Italian nor English, it uses English;
- Italiano;
- English.
What you’ll see: the screen’s text switches to the chosen language right away.
- Read the welcome text and the blue box: it reminds you that the app is built for merchants based in Italy under the ordinary VAT regime.
-
Press Let’s start.
What you’ll see: the title becomes “Terms and Privacy” and the Terms step lights up in the bar at the top.
Step 2 of 4 — Terms and Privacy
- If you want to read the documents, press Read the Terms of Service and Read the Privacy Policy. They open in a new browser tab.
-
Go back to the app’s tab and tick I have read and accept the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
What you’ll see: the Continue button becomes active. Before you tick the box it stays grey.
-
Press Continue.
What you’ll see: the title becomes “Your details and your accountant”.
Warning: you can’t go on without accepting the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. This is not an app error.
Step 3 of 4 — Your details and your accountant
Every field in this step is optional. You can leave them empty and fill them in later from Settings.
- In Legal name, type your company’s name as it should appear on documents.
-
In VAT number, type the 11 digits, without spaces and without “IT” in front.
What you’ll see: once there are 11 digits, a ✓ appears on the right of the field.
- In Address, type your company’s registered address.
- In Accountant’s email, type the address where the app will send the register on the Unlimited plan. If you don’t need it, leave it empty.
- If you typed an email, choose the Sending frequency: Monthly or Weekly.
- Choose when to send:
- with Monthly, type a number from 1 to 28 in Day of the month;
- with Weekly, pick the day in Day of the week.
-
Press Continue.
What you’ll see: the title becomes “Choose your plan” and three cards appear: Free, Grow and Unlimited.
Note: your accountant’s email is saved even if you choose Free or Grow, but automatic sending only runs on Unlimited.
Step 4 of 4 — Choose your plan
Each card shows the price, the features included and, for paid plans, the free trial. Below the cards you’ll find the Feature comparison table. No plan limits recording: every order is always logged. Plans change what you can view and download. Details are in Plans and billing.
- Read the three cards and pick a plan.
- Press the button on the card you chose:
- Start with Free for the free plan;
- Switch to Grow or Switch to Unlimited for a paid plan.
Warning: Switch to Grow and Switch to Unlimited start a paid subscription billed by Shopify in US dollars (USD). Before any charge, Shopify asks you to approve the subscription. During the first run the prices are monthly; you can choose annual billing later from the Plans page.
- If you chose Free: the app reloads and the Overview opens. You’re done.
- If you chose Grow or Unlimited: Shopify opens its approval page with the price and trial days. Press Shopify’s approval button. Shopify brings you back to the app, on the Overview.
If you leave Shopify’s page without approving, the subscription doesn’t start and the app stays on the Free plan. You can choose a plan whenever you like from Plans.
If something goes wrong
The Continue button in step 2 stays grey. The “I have read and accept…” box isn’t ticked. Tick it and try again.
At step 4 I’m sent back to step 3 with a red message. A VAT number must have 11 digits. Fix it or delete it, then press Continue again and choose your plan.
After choosing a plan I see “Could not start the subscription. Please try again shortly.” Shopify didn’t open the approval page. Wait a minute and press the plan button again. If it happens again, contact support: If something goes wrong.
I don’t see the Install button in the Shopify App Store. Your account isn’t allowed to install apps. Ask the store owner.
