Changelog
All changes that reach merchants, newest first.
v1.3.2 — October 21, 2026
Changed
- Optional review import during setup. You can now finish the guided setup without importing reviews. If you choose to skip, the checklist remembers your choice; you can still import reviews later from the Import page.
Fixed
- Review widget layout. The reviews block now fills the space provided by the theme section on desktop and mobile, keeping its heading and empty state centered. Other app blocks are unaffected.
v1.3.1 — October 10, 2026
Added
- Guide button on the Overview. The Overview page now has a Guide button at the top right that opens the step-by-step guide in a new tab, in your admin language (English when the guide is not available in it yet).
v1.3.0 — October 9, 2026
Changed
- Review requests start switched off. After installing, no request email goes out until you switch requests on in the new Activation step of the guided setup (step 7 of 7) or in Settings. Switching requests off also cancels the requests and reminders already waiting to be sent.
- Formal tone in German and French. The admin now always addresses you as Sie in German and vous in French.
- French for your customers. The review page and the review widget address your customers as vous throughout. The widget text updates when the theme extension is next deployed.
v1.2.3 — October 8, 2026
Changed
- Theme widget step. The app no longer asks Shopify for permission to read your theme, so it cannot tell whether a block is switched on. Add the blocks with the buttons, open a product page on your store to see the reviews, then press I added the block. Settings → Diagnostics now shows the reviews block and the questions block as Only you can check this, with the steps to follow. The app asks for two permissions instead of three; stores that already installed it are not asked to approve anything.
Fixed
- Review request email. The email said your order had arrived, but it is sent after shipping, when the parcel may still be on its way. It now says the order has shipped and asks for a review if the order has arrived. All six languages.
v1.2.2 — October 8, 2026
Changed
- App name. The header now shows the app’s name in your admin language: IFG Recensioni in Italian, IFG Reviews in every other language.
- Support. The page that used to be called Help is now Support in the menu, in its title and in the footer (Assistance in French, Soporte in Spanish, Suporte in Portuguese; unchanged in Italian).
- Plans page. A Monthly / Yearly selector replaces the two prices shown side by side. It starts on Monthly, or on Yearly if you already pay yearly. Yearly shows its saving as a percentage, -17%, instead of “2 months free”. Each price fits on one line, with the currency written the way your language writes it. Prices are unchanged.
- Admin language. Settings and the guided setup now offer Automatic (Shopify account language) as the first choice, and it is selected until you pick a language. If your Shopify account uses a language the app does not have, the app shows English.
Fixed
- Product count. When some products were deleted in Shopify, the Overview and Settings → Diagnostics left them out of the count without saying so, while the Products page did say it. All three now say how many deleted products are not counted.
- Overview. The guided-setup card showed the number of steps twice in two different sentences. It now says it once.
v1.2.1 — October 7, 2026
Fixed
- Plans page. Under Grow and Unlimited the line about sending from your own domain showed a raw text key instead of a sentence. It now reads properly in all six languages.
- A second review from the same person. When the same email address sent a second review for the same product, the form said “We’ve received your review” but nothing was saved. The form now says so: You’ve already sent a review for this product. You can send another after 24 hours. After 24 hours a new review is accepted. Questions on the product page had the same problem and no longer lose a second question silently.
- Photo field in the review form. The field now appears as soon as the shop’s photo storage is confirmed. Before, it waited for the form’s bot check to finish, which on a slow phone took long enough that Settings said photos were active while the form still hid the field.
- Settings: link on the order confirmation page. The line saying “to check by hand” now explains why the app cannot see that setting (it lives in Shopify’s checkout editor) and gives the three steps that prove it works.
- Import preview. A file that repeats the same review twice now shows the repeat as already there, so the preview matches what the import creates. Rows already stored by an earlier, different file are still reported only when you import.
v1.2.0 — October 7, 2026
New
-
Questions on the product page. A new theme block, IFG Reviews — questions, lets shoppers ask a question about a product and shows your answers. Questions wait in Customer questions (opened from the Reviews page, with the number waiting); you answer and publish in one press, and nothing is public until you do. The form is protected by the same invisible bot check as the review form. Read the guide.
-
Trust badge, floating button and review pop-up. Three new blocks, all drawn from the reviews you already have, at no extra cost. The trust badge is one line with the average, the count and how many come from verified purchases. The floating button and the review pop-up are app embeds you switch on once under App embeds in the theme editor (the guided setup has a button that opens it). The pop-up shows one real recent review, a limited number of times per visit, can be closed, and never invents numbers. Read the guide.
- Photo gallery. A new block, IFG Reviews — photo gallery: a grid of the photos shoppers attached to their reviews, each linking to its product.
- Link and QR code to ask for a review. In Products, each product has Link and QR code: a link to its page that opens the review form straight away, to put in a message, on a card in the parcel or as a printed QR. A review that comes in this way is never marked verified.
-
Import from Yotpo and other apps. The import now recognises Yotpo files, and reads other CSV files (Loox included) by their usual column names. Photos and “verified” badges in the old file are never imported, and imported reviews always arrive pending.
- Product groups. In Products → Manage groups you can make products that are really one item (sizes, a bundle) share their reviews: every product page of the group shows them all and counts them in its average.
- Shopify Flow triggers. Two triggers, Review submitted and Review published, to start your own workflows. They carry the product, the stars, whether the purchase is verified and the channel, never what a shopper wrote. Reviews you import never fire them.
- Review link on the order confirmation page (optional). Under each purchased product, a link to its page where the shopper can write a review. It is off until you switch it on in the checkout editor, you can change its wording, and it never marks a review as verified. It needs
shopify app deployand has not yet been tried on a live store. - Nine more storefront languages. The labels of the widgets and forms are now also in Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Turkish, Polish, Romanian, Japanese and Chinese (simplified and traditional), sixteen in all. The new ones have not been reviewed by native speakers yet.
Fixed
- Theme check. The check and the guided-setup step no longer report the block as active when it is live on the home page only: they now require the product page, and say so when the block is there but switched off.
- Help page. When the written answer is not available, the page now says so and shows the closest guide entries.
- After sending a question or a review, the thank-you now stands alone instead of next to “no questions yet”, and the trust badge says its figures are for the whole shop.
- Unsubscribe. The button on the unsubscribe page no longer leads to a missing page; links in emails older than 60 days keep working; and the page speaks the language of the email.
- Theme labels. Shop names and labels with an apostrophe or an ampersand no longer appear escaped twice (
'). - Import. The preview warns when the same file was already imported, instead of looking like a fresh import.
- Photo upload. Uploading a photo from the review form no longer fails in the browser before it reaches the app.
- Diagnostics. A setting name no longer appears as a raw code in the checks.
- Security and privacy. The no-JavaScript review form only returns to a page of your own store; text in the CSV export can no longer run as a spreadsheet formula; when a shop’s data is erased, its photos are removed even if the first attempt fails half-way.
- How reviews are collected and checked. The product reviews, store reviews and all-reviews blocks now carry an expandable line, in seven languages, saying what the Verified purchase mark means, that imported and public-form reviews are never verified, that the shop reads each review before publishing it and that the average counts everything published. Blocks that show a selection (carousel, photo gallery, floating button, pop-up) now show every rating by default, and say “only N stars and up” on the page when you choose to filter.
- Photos in the product page form. The “Write a review” form on the product page now lets the shopper attach up to five photos, as the page behind the review-request email already did. The field appears only when your photo storage is ready, a photo that fails to upload never stops the review, and photos wait for your approval together with the review.
- Requests held back, explained. When the same person has two requests due, the second waits for the one-a-week limit; Requests now says how many are waiting for that (“Requests held back by the 7-days-per-person limit”) and they go out by themselves when the week has passed. On a development store the limit is skipped, so a test with two orders from one address sends both.
- Big imports. A file with thousands of reviews no longer risks stopping halfway with no trace: the import saves its place and, if it runs out of time, tells you how far it got. Upload the same file again to continue; rows already imported are not touched.
- Plans page. The subtitle no longer contradicts “we never charge beyond the plan”, the sending domain is listed on Grow and Unlimited, and the 7-day trial is shown.
- Shipping, not delivery. Review requests start when an order is shipped; the app and the guides now say so in every language.
- Order confirmation link. Updated to the current checkout API version; in the checkout editor it now says why no link is showing.
v1.1.0 — October 6, 2026
New
- Feed for Google Shopping. Settings has a new card, Stars on Google Shopping: it creates a link you give to Google Merchant Center so Google can read your published product reviews. Google decides whether ratings appear: it asks for at least 50 reviews, enrolment in its Product Ratings programme and product GTIN codes, and it can take 2–4 weeks. Store reviews, pending and hidden reviews are never included, and neither are email addresses. The link is a secret you can replace or remove at any time. Read the guide.
v1.0.1 — October 5, 2026
New
- Test the whole chain on a development store. On a Shopify development store, Review requests now offers “Immediately (test only)”, so you can place an order, fulfil it and see the email, the one-tap star and the verified review within minutes. Live stores keep the 3-day minimum.
- Widget titles in your storefront’s language. The title above the reviews follows the language of your storefront when you leave the Heading empty, and the carousel has a “Show the title” switch. Brazilian Portuguese storefronts now get Portuguese labels instead of English.
Changed
- Fewer permissions. The app no longer lists
read_productsseparately: writing the app’s own data on products already includes reading the catalogue. Nothing you can do with the app changes, and nobody has to approve anything again. - Stars button. The guided setup now says what the stars button really does: it adds the block at the bottom of the product page’s main section, and you drag it under the title.
Fixed
- Plan after a reinstall. The app now forgets the plan it had cached when you uninstall, and asks Shopify again after a reinstall, so it never shows a paid plan Shopify no longer reports.
- Help page. A question about a channel the app does not offer (TikTok, Instagram, Amazon, Klaviyo…) now says the guide has nothing on it and points to the form that reaches a person, instead of listing unrelated entries.
- Language. After saving the language in Settings, the whole page changes language at once instead of after a reload.
- Webhooks. Deliveries Shopify sends with an unusable payload are no longer retried for hours, and refusals before processing are now logged.
v1.0.0 — October 3, 2026
Version numbering starts again from 1.0.0 today. This entry describes what the app does now.
What IFG Reviews does today
- Product and store reviews. Collect, moderate, reply to and publish reviews, with photos once photo uploads are active on your store, in a Shopify admin that is italian-first and available in six languages (Italian, English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese).
- Requests after delivery. Review requests are sent by email after an order is fulfilled, with limits on frequency and a suppression list for people who opt out.
- Verified purchase, never assigned by hand. A review is marked as verified only when it is backed by a real order. You cannot assign the badge yourself.
- Widgets on your theme. Review widgets are added through the Theme App Extension, without editing your theme files, together with product and store structured data (JSON-LD).
- Import and export. Bring in your reviews from Judge.me or from a CSV file, and export them whenever you want.
- Plans. Free, Grow and Unlimited, with a 7-day trial on the paid ones, managed through Shopify. Downgrading never deletes your reviews.
