IFG Reviews adds ten blocks to your theme. You place them from the theme editor; the app never edits your theme files. The reviews, the summary and the structured data are part of the page itself, so a visitor sees them even before scripts load. Scripts only add the viewer, sorting, “show more” and the review form.
Reviews widget
The full reviews section for a product page.
- Summary: the average rating, the number of reviews and, optionally, how many reviews each star rating has.
- Card grid: each review is a card with the reviewer’s name, a Verified purchase badge when the review comes from a real order, the stars, the text, your public reply and the date. When a review has photos, the card shows the first one. Photos are offered to customers only when photo uploads are active on your store (see Collecting reviews). Cards sit in two to four columns on desktop, in two on phones and in one below 360 px.
- Review viewer: selecting a card opens the review, with its photos at full size when it has any. Very long reviews may be shown shortened, as an excerpt.
- Sort and filter: most recent, highest or lowest rating, with photos first; all reviews, only those with photos, or one star rating.
- Show more: loads the next reviews without leaving the page, up to the 910 most recent published reviews of the list. Older ones stay in your admin and in the export.
- Write a review: opens the form. New reviews wait for your approval before they appear.

Reviews carousel
A strip of the newest reviews from the whole store, for the home page or any section. Three styles: photo cards, testimonials (the words, large) and photo gallery (pictures only, each linking to its product). You choose the minimum rating shown and whether to show only reviews with photos. On a phone shoppers swipe; on a computer, arrows appear.
All reviews page
The published reviews of your store on one page (the 910 most recent; older ones stay in your admin and in the export), with the store’s average, the distribution by stars, sorting and filters, and the product each review belongs to. In the theme editor, open a page template (create a new one if you need to) and add the IFG Reviews — all reviews block to it. Then assign that template to a page in Online Store → Pages.
Store reviews
The IFG Reviews — store reviews block shows reviews of your shop itself: service, shipping, the whole experience. It has its own summary, list and form, for the home page or any section. These reviews are kept apart from products: they never change a product’s stars, count or structured data, and they go through the same moderation.
Trust badge
One line — 4.6 out of 5 · 120 reviews · 85 from verified purchases — for the home page, a footer or a product page (block name: IFG Reviews — trust badge).
- It shows counts and nothing else. “Verified” is the badge the proof of purchase already decided; you cannot raise the number, and with none the line is left out.
- It needs no script and adds no structured data (the store-wide rating would be a self-serving review for Google).
Floating reviews button
A small button fixed to a corner of every page that opens the latest reviews in a dialog (block name: IFG Reviews — floating button). It is an app embed: switch it on once in the theme editor under App embeds; the guided setup has a button that opens the editor on it. You choose the side, the lowest star rating shown, how many reviews, and an optional link to your all-reviews page.
Review pop-up
A small card that, a few seconds after a visitor arrives, shows one real recent review (“Marta rated Zaino 4 out of 5”) and goes away on its own (block name: IFG Reviews — review pop-up). Also an app embed.
- Nothing is invented, counted up or shown as “someone just bought”: every line is a published review.
- It appears a limited number of times per visit (you choose, up to five), can be closed, stays closed for the visit and does not animate for visitors who asked their device for reduced motion.
- Only the author’s first name is shown.
Sharing reviews between products
In Products → Manage groups you can group products that are really one item (the sizes of a shirt, a bundle and its parts). The reviews of every product in the group then show on every product page of the group and count in its average. A review stays with the page where it was written and its Verified purchase badge does not change. A group has 2 to 20 products and a product is in one group at most. In the Google feed each review stays on its own product.
Photo gallery
A grid of the photos shoppers attached to their reviews, each linking to its product (block name: IFG Reviews — photo gallery). It appears only when photo uploads are active and there are photos; with none it shows nothing. It needs no script.
Product questions
A block where shoppers ask a question about a product and you answer it (block name: IFG Reviews — questions).
- Nothing is public until you publish it. Questions wait in Customer questions, reached from the Reviews page; answer there and publish in one press.
- The form asks for the question, an optional name and an email address (not published; it only keeps one person from flooding a product and lets us honour deletion requests). It is protected by the same invisible bot check as the review form.
- No structured data. Google’s question markup is meant for community Q&A pages, so this block adds none and promises no search appearance.
- Questions are deleted when you delete them, on a customer data request, and when the app is uninstalled and its data erased.
How reviews are collected and checked
The product reviews, store reviews and all-reviews blocks show an expandable line, How reviews are collected and checked, in the shopper’s language. It says what Verified purchase means, that reviews from the public form, from a link or QR code and imported reviews are never verified, that the shop reads each review before it is published, and that the average counts every published review. It follows the app’s real behaviour, so it cannot be edited: if you change how you collect reviews, the text is not the place to say it.
The carousel, photo gallery, floating button and pop-up show every rating by default. If you choose 4 stars and up or 5 stars only, the block says so on the page.
Star badge
The stars and the review count, for under the product title on the product page. Collection grids and cards are not covered: showing stars there takes a change to the theme, which the app never makes. When a product has no reviews yet it shows nothing, or an invitation if you turn that on — never an empty rating.
Ratings in search results
When a product has published reviews, the reviews widget adds structured data for the product, its rating and the reviews shown on the page. The all reviews page and the store reviews block add none. Search engines can use it to show stars next to your product; whether they do is their decision, and no app can guarantee it.
Turn Structured data off if your theme or another app already publishes a rating for your products: two sources for the same rating conflict.
Spam protection
The review form includes a built-in check that runs in the shopper’s browser while they write. There is no captcha to solve and no third-party service involved. Writing a review needs JavaScript; reading reviews does not.
Language
The labels in the widgets (Write a review, Most recent, Verified purchase, star and review counts) follow the language of your storefront, the one a visitor picked or your market sets, not the language of the admin. They are available in sixteen languages: English, Italian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese (European and Brazilian), Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Turkish, Polish, Romanian, Japanese and Chinese (simplified and traditional). The nine added on 2026-10-07 have not been reviewed by native speakers yet: tell us if a label reads wrong. A storefront in any other language shows them in English. If your storefront is in English, the labels are in English even when the title is not: leave the Heading empty to have the title follow the language too.
Adding the blocks
The quickest way is the buttons in the guided setup, which open the theme editor with the block already added. The stars button adds them at the bottom of the product page’s main section: drag them under the title and save. See Installation. By hand:
- In your Shopify admin, open Online Store → Themes → Customize.
- Open a product template.
- Add a block or section, choose IFG Reviews — reviews or IFG Reviews — star badge from the Apps group, and save.
If the block doesn’t appear in the list, your theme or that section does not accept app blocks (an Online Store 2.0 theme is needed). Settings → Diagnostics tells you which. If it is still unclear, write to info@ifgecommerce.com.
Block settings such as colours, corner radius and layout are in the theme editor, not in the app. Leave colours empty to follow your theme.
