Before you start
You have created at least one box: see Creating a box.
Find a box
-
Go to Shopify Admin › Apps › IFG Build Your Box › Boxes.
What you’ll see: the list of boxes. Each row has the name, the status label (Active, Draft, Archived or To verify), the composition (for example “Exactly 3 items” or “3–5 items”) and the Edit button.
- To filter, open the Status field and choose All statuses, Active, Drafts, Archived or To verify.
- To search, type part of the name in the “Search a box by name” field.
If no box matches, “No results” appears: change the search or the filter.
Edit a box
-
Select Edit next to the box.
What you’ll see: the box page with the Status, Details, Products, Rules and Appearance sections.
-
Change what you need: name and price in Details; variants and collections with Edit variants and Edit collections in Products; the numbers in Rules; texts and colours in Appearance.
What you’ll see: the “Unsaved changes” label appears at the bottom and Shopify’s save bar at the top.
-
Select Save changes.
What you’ll see: the message “Changes saved.”
To go back to the last saved version without saving, select Discard in the bar at the top.
Warning: if the box is active, changes reach customers straight away. While the app saves, the box is moved to draft for a moment and then reactivated. If saving is interrupted, “The change was not completed” appears: reload the page and check the status before trying again.
Refreshing a collection’s products
The app reads a collection’s products when you save the box. If you add or remove products in the collection in Shopify, the builder keeps using the list from the last save. The collection card reminds you with “Variant snapshot refreshed when you save”.
On a box that uses collections, Save changes is active even if you have not changed anything. To refresh the list:
- Open the box.
- Select Save changes.
Stop selling a box
The app doesn’t delete boxes. To take one off the store:
- Open the box and select Move to draft.
The box stays in the app with all its settings and you can publish it again anytime. See Publishing a box.
If the box was changed in Shopify Admin
The box product is managed from the app. If someone archives it or sets it to draft directly in Shopify Products, customers no longer see the box.
- The Boxes list shows the “Changed in Shopify Admin” panel and the box row says “Product archived in Shopify” or “Product set to draft in Shopify”.
- The box page shows the same notice with the Restore product button.
- Open the box.
-
Select Restore product.
What you’ll see: the message “Product restored in Shopify.” The box goes back to the status saved in the app.
Note: activating the box product directly in Shopify doesn’t make it purchasable. A box only goes on sale when you publish it from the app, so it always passes the plan and configuration checks.
Troubleshooting
A box has the “To verify” label. The app can’t read the product status in Shopify. Reload the page. If the label stays, contact support.
“One of the selected collections cannot be read. The box was not changed.” appears. A collection was deleted or is no longer accessible. Select Edit collections and update your choice.
“The session does not match this box. Reload the page.” appears. The page is out of step with the box. Reload the page and make the change again.
