What does IFG Build Your Box do?
It lets you sell build-your-own boxes at a fixed price. You decide the pack price and which products can be chosen; the customer builds the box on the product page and pays the price you set.
How do I create my first box?
Go to Boxes and press Create box. Choose a name and price, add variants or collections as sources and set the minimum and maximum number of items. The box starts as a draft: no customer sees it until you publish it.
How do I show the builder in my store?
In Settings, press Add to box pages: the Theme Editor opens on the product template with the IFG Build Your Box block already inserted. Check the preview and press Save. The block is a theme extension: your theme code is not modified.
Does the box price really stay fixed?
Yes. The price you set is the price of the box product in the cart and at checkout, even if the chosen products cost more separately. The app does not create Shopify discounts to achieve this.
Why is my box not visible or not purchasable?
Check two things: the box must be published from the box page, and the block must be in the theme’s product template. A draft box cannot be purchased, even if the product is activated manually in Shopify.
How is inventory handled?
In the cart, the box expands into the real products chosen by the customer. Inventory and order fulfillment apply to those products, exactly as if they had been bought one by one.
Can I use a collection as a source?
Yes. When you save the box, the app reads the collection’s variants and makes them selectable. If you later change the products in the collection, open the box and press “Save changes” (it stays available without edits when the box uses collections) to update the list.
What are collection rules?
They let you require, for example, at least one and at most two products from a given collection. You set them in the box for each collection used as a source; the cart rejects combinations that don’t meet them.
How many products can I put in a box?
Up to 100 selectable variants per box, counting both hand-picked variants and variants from collections. If the sources exceed the limit, the app tells you and does not save.
Can I limit the quantity of the same product?
Yes, with the max per variant. If you set it to 1, the customer cannot put the same product in the box twice, not even by editing the cart manually.
Can a customer get around the rules by editing the cart?
No. Shopify checks the rules when the box enters the cart: products that aren’t allowed, quantities over the limit or invalid combinations are rejected, and the box is not added.
What happens if I activate the box product directly in Shopify?
It stays unpurchasable. A box becomes sellable only when you publish it from the app, so publishing always goes through the checks on your plan and configuration.
Can I sell several boxes in the same order?
Yes. Each box added is a separate cart line with its own products and its own fixed price.
Do discount codes work on boxes?
A Shopify discount code that applies to the box product behaves like a separate promotion on the box price. The app does not create or modify discount codes.
What does the customer see if a product is sold out?
In the builder the product appears as unavailable and cannot be selected. The other products stay selectable as usual.
What is the difference between the plans?
Both plans include every feature. Free allows 1 active box; Unlimited allows unlimited active boxes for $9.90 / month or $99 / year, with a free trial of up to 7 days (once per store: Shopify counts trial days used in the last 180 days).
How do I change my plan?
Open Plans and press the plan’s button: you choose on the Shopify page and the charge appears on the store’s Shopify bill. You can switch between plans without reinstalling the app.
What happens to my active boxes if I go back to Free?
Boxes that are already active are not switched off automatically. To publish new ones, you will need to get back within the limit of one active box by moving the others to draft.
Do I need Shopify Plus?
No. The app works on the Basic, Grow and Advanced plans with an Online Store 2.0 theme.
Does the app read my customer or order data?
Only what Analytics needs to show box sales: products, quantities and amounts of the order lines from the last 60 days. The app does not read customer names, emails, phones or addresses and does not store orders; totals are calculated when you open the page.
What happens if I uninstall the app?
The box product requires its components: without the app it cannot be purchased on its own. The box products stay in your catalog and you can archive them from Shopify.
Can I change how the builder looks?
Yes. Title, description, accent color and corner radius are set in the box. If you also fill them in the Theme Editor block, the block’s values win in the store. Fonts and overall style come from your theme.
