Before you start
Warning: after uninstalling, boxes can no longer be bought. The box product requires the products the customer chose and, without the app, it can’t be bought on its own.
Before uninstalling we recommend you:
- Move all active boxes to draft (Boxes › Edit › Move to draft).
- Remove the Build Your Box block from your theme, in the theme editor.
Uninstall
- Go to Shopify Admin › Settings › Apps and sales channels.
- Find IFG Build Your Box and open the menu next to its name.
-
Select Uninstall.
Warning: this can’t be undone. Shopify asks you to confirm.
-
Confirm.
What you’ll see: the app disappears from the list of installed apps.
What happens next
- Access: the app loses access to your store immediately.
- Plan: an active Unlimited plan ends with the uninstall, because the subscription runs through Shopify.
- Box products: they stay in your catalog and can’t be bought on their own. You can archive or delete them in Shopify Products.
- Your real products: they are not touched.
- Box configurations: they are stored in your store as app data and follow Shopify’s handling on uninstall.
- App data: when Shopify sends the store data deletion request, usually 48 hours after uninstalling, the app deletes the store’s remaining data. The details are on the Privacy page.
If you reinstall the app
The first setup starts again: language and plan. If the box products are still in your catalog, the app recovers the boxes from those products. The Unlimited free trial follows the 180-day rule: see Plans and billing.
Troubleshooting
I don’t see Uninstall. Your account isn’t allowed to manage apps. Ask the store owner.
A customer still sees a box after uninstalling. The box product is still active in your catalog. Archive it in Shopify Products.
