Getting started
Three short phases: set up the return form on your storefront, see what a customer experiences, then manage a request from your admin. Most stores are fully set up in under ten minutes.
1. Set up the return form
1. Complete the guided onboarding. Open the app and fill in your company’s legal details and your return address. These are required: they’re what your customers see on their withdrawal confirmation and where returned items get sent, and the app tracks them as part of your compliance status.
2. Add a return block to your theme. Use the “Open Theme Editor” shortcut at the end of onboarding (or go there directly from your Shopify admin). Click Add block / App embeds, search for IFG Returns, and choose the block that fits where you want it:
Module— embeds the full form in a page, like a dedicated “Returns” page.Pop-up— a button that opens the form in a modal, placed anywhere on a page.Floating— a floating button visible on every page; turned on from the App embeds panel rather than added to a single page.
You can enable more than one — for example a floating button site-wide plus a dedicated page for a footer link.
3. Save the theme. The app’s dashboard automatically detects which block is active — no need to confirm it manually.
2. What your customer sees
1. No account needed. Customers open the return form directly from your storefront — no login required. The form’s language automatically follows your store’s configured language, including full right-to-left layout for Arabic and Hebrew.
2. Order lookup. The customer enters their order number, email, and order date. These are checked live against the real order in Shopify, so only genuine orders can be submitted.
3. Instant confirmation. On submission, the customer gets an immediate confirmation with their case reference — the request now appears in your admin.
3. Manage a request
1. Open “Returns” in the app. Every new request appears here with a status badge (pending, approved, refunded, and so on) so you can see what needs attention at a glance.
2. Review and approve. Open a case, check the items and reason, and click Approve. Once the returned item arrives, click Confirm receipt.
3. Refund. Select the items and amount to refund and confirm. On plans that include direct refunds, the refund is issued immediately from within the app — no need to jump to the separate Shopify order page.
