Frequently asked questions
How do I restore Pro?
Open Settings › Pro › Restore purchases. You will see Purchases restored, or No purchase to restore on this Apple Account if the device is signed in with a different Apple Account. If you see Could not reach the App Store. Try again later., check your connection and try again.
Can I use Pro on both iPhone and iPad?
Yes, on every device signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account. Pro usually appears on its own; if not, use Restore purchases. You pay only once.
Can I share Pro with Family Sharing?
Yes. Pro supports Apple Family Sharing, subject to Apple’s family-group settings and conditions.
Is my progress synced between my devices?
Yes, through your own iCloud and with no account. If you are signed in to iCloud and Sync with iCloud is on, your settings, statistics, Daily Challenge history, the puzzles you have already played, your game in progress and your Daily Challenge in progress are kept in your iCloud and shared by your iPhone and iPad. If another device has a different game in progress, Home shows Game from your other device: tap Continue here to play it here (it replaces the game saved on this device), or close the notice.
I have a new iPhone or iPad. How do I keep my progress?
Sign in on the new device with the same Apple Account, install the app and open it: with Sync with iCloud on, your progress comes back by itself, including your game in progress. Pro comes back from the App Store; if it does not, tap Restore purchases. Step by step in the user guide.
How do I start over or delete my data?
To start a new game, choose a level: if a game is in progress, the app asks before replacing it. There is no button that resets statistics. To delete what the app keeps in your iCloud, open Settings › iCloud and new devices › Delete my data from iCloud. It applies to all your devices; turn off Sync with iCloud too if you do not want the app to save there again. To erase games, statistics and settings on a device, delete the app: touch and hold its icon, then Remove App › Delete App. This cannot be undone. Pro is not lost: after reinstalling, use Restore purchases. Details in the user guide.
How do I turn off sounds or haptics?
Open Settings › Sound and haptics and switch off Sounds or Haptics. Sounds also follow the silent switch and never stop your music.
Which accessibility features does the app support?
The app is built for VoiceOver (every cell announces its row, column, value and notes), larger text sizes, Reduce Motion, Increase Contrast, Reduce Transparency and light or dark appearance. Sounds and haptics can be turned off. VoiceOver compatibility on a physical device has not yet been verified. Details are in the user guide.
Does the app have leaderboards or achievements?
Yes, through Game Center, Apple's game service, and only if you want it. With Game Center on in Settings and signed in to Game Center, you get leaderboards for time at each level, for the Daily Challenge and for puzzles solved, and 18 calm achievements. Only grids solved without any help (no hint, no revealed cell, no Check my notes, no live mistake marking) count for times. Apple handles sign-in and scores; nothing reaches us. Details in the user guide.
Does the app work offline?
Yes, it plays offline. Every game mode, the Daily Challenge, hints and statistics work without a connection. Only buying or restoring Pro and the update check need the App Store, and iCloud sync and Game Center catch up the next time you are online.
Is there a widget or a Siri shortcut?
Yes. The Daily Challenge widget shows today's challenge on the Home Screen or Lock Screen. With Siri or the Shortcuts app you can use “Start today's Daily” and “Resume game”. They work offline and send nothing. See the user guide.
How do I know when there is a new version?
Updates come from the App Store. If Tell me about updates is on in Settings (it is on at start), the app checks no more than about once a day and shows Update available on Home when a newer version for your device exists. Tap it to open the App Store, or close it. The check sends Apple only the app's identifier and the country or region set on your device; see the Privacy Policy.
The app says “The App Store is not reachable right now”.
The price and the purchase come from the App Store. Check your connection and try again later. Everything free keeps working in the meantime. If purchases are restricted in Screen Time, the App Store may not allow them.
I see “Waiting for approval”.
The purchase needs approval, for example through Ask to Buy in Family Sharing. Pro unlocks by itself once it is approved.
My saved game says “This game needs Pro”.
The game was started at a Pro level and Pro is not active on this device, for example after a refund or with a different Apple Account. Your progress is saved. Restore or unlock Pro to continue it.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Are there ads?
No. Not in the free version and not with Pro.
