Changelog

All changes that reach merchants, newest first. This is technical documentation, kept in 5 languages (English, Italian, German, French, Spanish) rather than all 30 the rest of the Help Center supports.

1.2.0 — August 28, 2026

Suggested competitors on the Visibility AI page (Unlimited) — The “AI mentions vs competitors” box can now propose competitors for you, from your store name, product titles, categories and the brands you carry, instead of expecting you to know them already. Each suggestion comes with a one-line reason drawn from your own catalogue, and nothing is tracked until you accept it: names you do not recognize are discarded with one click. Suggestions that match your own store, a competitor you already track, or a name too generic to measure reliably are filtered out before you see them. The names come from an AI model and are hypotheses, not verified market data — check that the store really exists before adding it.

1.1.1 — August 24, 2026

Subscribing to a paid plan works again — Choosing Grow or Unlimited, from the Plans page or the setup wizard, failed with “Couldn’t start the subscription right now” and never opened Shopify’s billing window. An internal change released earlier the same day made the return address sent to Shopify too long for the limit Shopify accepts, so every attempt was rejected. Subscribing now works on every store, including stores with very long addresses, which had the same problem even before that change. When a subscription does fail from now on, the banner also shows the reason Shopify gave instead of a generic message.

1.1.0 — August 24, 2026

Security maintenance — Updated the app’s runtime routing stack to patched releases and tightened the release verification path. No feature, setting, plan, or merchant workflow changed.

August 2026

Your catalogue now really reaches the AI files on your domainllms.txt and llms-full.txt published to your active theme contain your products. Until now they carried only the store header: the product list was built in a way Shopify does not run inside those files, so it came out empty on every store. If a catalogue is too large for the size limit Shopify allows a theme file, the file states how many products it holds. The published content is a snapshot — publish again after you change products, prices or descriptions.

AI files open in the browser instead of downloading/apps/geo/llms-txt, /apps/geo/llms-full-txt and /apps/geo/agents-md are served as plain text. Safari, on iPhone in particular, was treating them as attachments and leaving a blank tab.

Clearer messages when an AI feature cannot finish — Description rewriting, FAQ generation, the uncited-statistics scan and specification extraction used to fail with one identical line that said nothing useful. Each now explains what happened and whether it is worth trying again, with the technical detail tucked into an expandable section. “Retry” appears only where retrying can actually change the outcome.

Resolve no longer claims a product has no description — When specification extraction failed for a technical reason, the audit told you the product had neither options nor a usable description, even for products with a long one. The three real outcomes — no source text, no verifiable specification in the text, generation failed — are now distinguished.

Full previews open in a window of their own — The previews of llms.txt, llms-full.txt, agents.md and Organization JSON-LD used to expand inline and stretch the page without limit. They now open in a scrollable window.

Free trial after cancelling and re-subscribing — Subscribing again to the same plan within the trial window keeps the free trial visible in Shopify’s billing window, with the days left rather than none. The window itself does not restart: the trial is counted from the day it first began.

July 2026

AI referral traffic tracking — Added a Web Pixel (Grow/Unlimited) that detects storefront visits arriving from a recognized AI engine (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Copilot) and reports them on a new Dashboard tile, consent-gated and fully anonymous — the counterpart to Visibility AI tracking: not just “are we mentioned,” but “is that mention sending anyone.”

Dashboard and navigation polish — Added a proper empty state for first-time use, a loading skeleton during page navigation, and a per-bot breakdown on the crawler page showing whether a robots.txt rule was matched by name or inherited from the wildcard group.

Onboarding redesign — The setup wizard’s progress bar became a step-by-step checklist, with a visible confirmation banner on completion instead of an instant, unconfirmed reload.

Billing and support email — Support and privacy contact moved to info@ifgecommerce.com.

Internal Link & Entity Graph Coach — New analysis of how well products connect to each other through shared collections, vendors, and tags, with explainable suggestions and a Dashboard summary.

Readiness Matrix — The Dashboard gained a single, at-a-glance panel aggregating every GEO signal the app tracks: content extractability, Organization schema, llms.txt, agents.md, crawler access, MCP readiness, Link Coach connectivity, and (once shipped) AI referral traffic.

Content rewrite engine — Added an AI-assisted tool to rewrite a product description to be denser in verifiable facts and easier for a generative engine to quote, with a mandatory before/after review before anything is written back.

Competitor comparison — Paste a competitor’s product URL and see the same GEO signals compared side by side with your own product.

Visibility AI tracking — Weekly automated checks of whether Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity mention your store on prompts you choose to monitor, with a trend chart and per-engine breakdown.

Organization schema and agents.md — Added structured company-identity data (legal name, VAT/tax ID, address) for AI systems verifying a business is real, and a generated agents.md file describing the store to autonomous shopping agents.

Billing — Merchants can subscribe to Grow or Unlimited, monthly or annual, directly from the Pricing page, and cancel back to Free at any time without contacting support.

Privacy policy and App Store compliance review — Published this Help Center and a formal privacy policy; confirmed the app’s Shopify permissions and GDPR webhook handling meet App Store requirements ahead of submission.

AI-assisted FAQ generation — Generate three to five question-and-answer pairs per product from its existing title, description, and specs, review them, and publish the ones you approve. Published FAQs appear on the product page and as FAQPage structured data.

Content extractability (chunking) score — The catalog audit now also scores how easy each product’s description is for an AI system to extract and quote from — not just whether structured-data fields are present, but whether the writing itself is usable.

Crawler simulator — Fetch any product page exactly as an AI crawler sees it — no JavaScript, same as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot — including per-bot robots.txt checks.

Catalog audit and one-click fixes — Launched the core audit: scans your catalog against nine structured-data fields, scores each product, and fixes what it safely can with one click. Also added real llms.txt generation, served at your store’s true root.
